     A Regular meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners was held this date, pursuant to the following call:

     A Regular Meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Tuesday July 1, 2008, at 5:15 p.m. in the Circuit Courtroom of the Courthouse Building.

ROLL CALL

PRESENT:   Commissioners Bengry, Elegeert, Rivard, Ruohomaki, Schultz

 

ABSENT:   None.

          The meeting was called to order at 5:15 p.m. in the Delta County Circuit Courtroom by Delta County Clerk, Nancy Kolich.

 

   V.  APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING     

       Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve the minutes of the June 17, 2008 meeting.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

  IV. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

      Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Rivard to amend the agenda to add item 2. Treasurer’s Request.  MOTION CARRIED.

           

  VI. PRESENTATATION OF WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS

        Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded by Commissioner Bengry that the Communications and Reports of Standing and Statutory Committees and the Reports of Special Committees and Others be received and placed on file.  MOTION CARRIED.

        None.

       

   IX. COMMITTEE REPORTS:

  1. Administrator’s Report.

     Moved by Commissioner Rivard and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to receive the Administrator’s Report and place on file.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

       2. Ren Zone Report.

          Included with Administrator’s Report.

 

       3. Soil Conservation District Report.

     Report was presented to the Board by Rory Mattson, Delta County Soil Conservation District Director.  Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded by Commissioner Bengry to receive the Administrator’s Report and place on file.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

   X. GENERAL ORDERS OF BUSINESS

 

  VI. UNFINISHED BUSINESS

1. Superior Health Code.

         Report was presented by Don Shirley, Chair of the Health Code Ad Hoc Committee.  Delta Menominee Health Board will meet on July 11th.

            

 B. NEW BUSINESS

    1. Payment of Bills.

            Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Rivard to approve the bills in the amount of $542,107.05, as presented.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

         2. Treasurer’s Request.

            Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Rivard to set a Finance Committee meeting with Treasurer Buckland, Assistant Administrator Viau and Bookkeeper Sabor.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

  XI. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT

      Connie Ness, Airport Manager, Wednesday July 23 Business After Hours at Pioneer Trail Park hosted by Airport and Parks Committees and  Saturday August 2nd – 2nd Annual Airport Pig Roast.

      Rory Mattson addressed the Board with his concerns regarding the Superior Health Code.

           

 XII. COMMISSIONERS CONCERNS

      Commissioners Bengry:  None.

 

      Commissioner Rivard: Parks Commission members met with Menominee Co. Building and Grounds Superintendent at Klinke Park

 

      Commissioner Ruohomaki: None

 

      Commissioner Schultz:  None

 

      Commissioner Elegeert: Will be at a NACO meeting on July 15th.

 

XIII. MEETING SCHEDULE
