     A Special meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners was held this date, pursuant to the following call:

Dear Commissioners:

     A Special Meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Friday May 9, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. in the Probate Courtroom of the Courthouse Building for the purpose of determining the terms of office for the additional Road Commission seats for the 2008 Election and to review a 911 millage request.

PRESENT:   Commissioners Bengry, Elegeert, Rivard, and Ruohomaki

 

EXCUSED:  Commissioner Schultz.

          The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. in the Probate Courtroom by Delta County Clerk, Nancy Kolich.

 

         1. Road Commission Terms of Office.

            Moved by Commissioner Rivard and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to adopt the Resolution to Provide for Staggered Terms of Office for the Delta County Road Commissioners, as presented, which would allow one the newly created Road Commissioner terms to be designated a 4 year term for the 2008 General Election only, expiring in 2012, so that no more than 2 Road Commissioners’ terms of office expire in the same year.

    2. 911 Millage Request.

            Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Rivard to approve the Delta County Central Dispatch Authority’s request for a millage renewal proposal of up to .75 mills for 5 years, 2010 through 2014 inclusive, to be placed on the August 5, 2008 primary ballot.
