Statutory Committees and the Reports of Special Committees and Others be

by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve paying
half the cost ($45.00 per month) of an IT cell phone to monitor the computer
servers, as presented. MOTION CARRIED.

Commissioner Schultz to receive the Administrator’s report and place on
file. MOTION CARRIED.
X. GENERAL ORDERS OF BUSINESS
VI. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Superior
Health Code.
Don
Shirley, Delta County Drain Commissioner and Chair of the Superior Health Code
ad hoc committee, updated the Board on the progress of the committee, submitted
final draft, which was accepted by the Delta Menominee Health Board on March 19th,
will go to the townships, legal review will be done and then postings and public hearings will be held.
B. NEW BUSINESS
1. Payment of Bills.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by
Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve the bills in the amount of $618,535.92, as
presented. MOTION CARRIED.
2.
Millage Renewal Request.
Moved
by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve the
Community Action Agency request to put a Senior Services Program Millage
Renewal Proposal on the ballot, as presented. MOTION CARRIED.
3. Air
Service Update.
Moved
by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Bengry to send a letter
encouraging the FAA and the Department of Transportation to address the loss of
essential air service in Delta County and asking that the 10,000 boarding
requirement be waived due to a 2 month loss of service. MOTION CARRIED.

Rivard by to direct the Administrator Erickson to meet with Connie Ness, Ann
Jousma-Miller, Bill Kwarciany, Marilyn Kinsey, and Mr. McIntyre to work on the problem and come back with
recommendations.

Renzone Extension Resolution: Ann Jousma-Miller.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by
Commissioner Ruohomaki to adopt the Resolution Granting Delta County Permission
to Extend Renaissance Zone Time Duration, as presented. MOTION CARRIED.

appreciation to Ann Jousma-Miller for her efforts in extending the Renaissance
Zone
5. Executive Session: Labor
Negotiations.

Commissioner Ruohomaki to move into executive session for the purpose of discussing
Delta County Jail labor negotiations with Sheriff Ballweg at

XI. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT
Connie Ness, Airport Manager, stated the Sen.
Levin is signing on with the Essential Air Service proposal that’s in congress
now.
XII. COMMISSIONERS CONCERNS
Commissioners Bengry: Informed Maintenance Director of additional bids
for equipment.
Commissioner Rivard: Working with MAC on Brownfield – May 20th
Flo McCormick will be here to make a presentation.
Commissioner Ruohomaki: Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded
by Commissioner Bengry to adopt a Resolution in support of Michigan Works!
Commissioner Schultz: Pathways is in the process of hiring a new
director – offer has been made to deputy director. Public Health has hired a
director – Barb Chenier, she has a good working relationship with the State,
she will do a good job.
Commissioner Elegeert: The new Public Health Director is proactive,
the status of the Environmental Health department will rise because of the way
she does business.
