Contact District Court

If you choose to admit responsibility with an explanation, this will be submitted to the magistrate to review and you will be contacted with a response by mail or email. The magistrate does not have the authority to remove the points that may be associated with your citation.

The signed citation must be received by this court within 10 days from the date the citation was issued. If not received within the 10-day period, the court will default you, which results in additional fees on the citation.

You have 6 weeks from the date of the citation to pay in full. A 14-day notice will be sent in the mail after 30 days. If not paid by the obligation date, your license is subject to suspension.

All moving traffic violations will be reported to the Secretary of State if you admit responsibility to the citation or if you are found responsible after an informal hearing. If you are eligible for a driver improvement class, the Secretary of State will send you that documentation in the mail. (You are eligible if you have not yet taken the class or if this is your first citation.) Any questions regarding your license or the points associated with your citation need to be directed to the Secretary of State.

If you posted bond with the officer, and it is the correct amount of your citation, and you wish to admit responsibility, you must sign the back of your citation admitting responsibility and mail, email or fax this to the Court. Once we receive your plea, we will apply the bond posted.

FIX-IT TICKETS: Sign and date the original citation on the Admit Responsibility line. Take your vehicle and the citation to any Law Enforcement Agency. They will sign off on your citation. Mail or return the citation, signed by you and law enforcement, to the District Court within 10 days, and the fine will be waived.
